The department is playing a pivotal role in upholding our culture and tradition. The Department has a gifted faculty team, systematic course work, a syllabus with modern and contemporary interdisciplinary knowledge. Creditable initiatives are exploring  potential of New Media for Digital Learning in Malayalam language and literature, a study on the local legends and myths in the area. The department leads to publishing books and research papers on knowledge like Cultural studies, Media Studies, Post Colonial Studies and Historiography. Our social commitment is reflected in special initiatives for upliftment of Dalits and visually impaired students.
